“The Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft touched down softly near the moon’s south pole today (Aug. 23), notching a huge milestone for the nation. India is now the fourth country to stick a lunar landing, after the United States, the former Soviet Union and China.”

“How would moon mining work?
It is not entirely clear.
Some sort of infrastructure would have to be established on the moon. The conditions of the moon mean robots would have to do most of the hard work, though water on the moon would allow for long-term human presence.“
“In the final stage of the mission, once the spacecraft reaches an orbit 100-kilometers above the lunar surface, the lander and the rover Pragyan will be detached and maneuvered to soft-land on the surface of the Moon.”
