ZZ Top – I heard it on the X – Gruene Hall, New Bruanfels Texas (2019)

ZZ Top video - Heard it on the X

At the station, I get way too many emails with irrelevant music submissions mixed in with a large amount of “business opportunities”, website crap, fake invoices, and people who claim to have incriminating videos of me.

If you are using one of these ridiculous music submission services, you probably aren’t reading this. Although, on the other hand if you are an artist that wants me to take a look at some of your music – in your submission put the subject in the following format:
NTRadio Music Submission – Artist/Band name

I personally wouldn’t recommend paying a music submission service that sends unsolicited, mass-mailed music requests. You’re wasting your money. It’s not just me, most stations probably just ignore them. They’re a waste of time. In my case, even if I played it, it wouldn’t increase your exposure. My station is a niche station. While I don’t have a ton of listeners, the average time that my listeners stay connected puts the major stations’ averages to shame.

For personal submissions, it’s all about the music.

If I choose to add your music to the NTR playlist, I’ll let you know. If I don’t get back to you, please don’t take it personally.

So ring out the old, ring in the new
Ring out the old, ring in the new
Ring out the false, ring in the true
Ring out the old, ring in the new

Leonard Cohen – The Future (1992)

Leonard Cohen Performs The Future

Things are going to slide in all directions
Won’t be nothing you can measure anymore
The blizzard, the blizzard of the world
Has crossed the threshold
And it’s overturned
The order of the soul

When they said repent, repent
I wonder what they meant

— Leonard Cohen

The Doors – Riders on the Storm (1971)

Into this house we’re born, into this world we’re thrown
Like a dog without a bone, an actor out on loan
Riders on the storm
— The Doors

Riders on the Storm Video

Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.

— Helen Keller

Leonard Cohen – There is a War (1993)

There is a war between the rich and poor,
a war between the man and the woman.
There is a war between the left and right,
a war between the black and white,
a war between the odd and the even.

Why don’t you come on back to the war, pick up your tiny burden,
why don’t you come on back to the war, let’s all get even…

— Leonard Cohen

John Lennon – Gimmie Some Truth (1971)

I’ve had enough of reading things
By neurotic, psychotic, pig-headed politicians
All I want is the truth
Just give me some truth
